Can you believe that it's September already? I'm still kinda shocked to be honest. School started two weeks ago for us, and since then it's been an absolute whirlwind. Between sports, school commitments and then my kiddos both getting the "back to school bug", I barely had time to breathe. BUT I pulled it together, sorta, and finally finished September's Meal Plan!
September is my favorite month here in Colorado. We have warm days, cool nights and the leaves start changing colors AND the kids are back in school! I love creating meal plans, and figuring out what to make every month while sticking to a strict budget. This months menu has a good combination of late summer and fall meals that will please even picky eaters. This one month planner will help you plan simple meals that are healthy(ish), and budget-friendly.
Mom's Bistro Meal Plans are an all-in-one meal plan with grocery lists, recipes, money saving tips and more. Each month, is a completely new breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with no dinner repeats. September 2 Strawberry Banana Smoothie / Pizza Lunchable / Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenders & Salad
September 3 Pancakes / BLT / Cajun Shrimp & Sausage Skewers, Grilled Corn On The Cob
September 5 - Labor Day Instant Pot Egg Bites / Grilled Ham & Cheese / Pizza
September 7 Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie / Bagel & Cream Cheese / Leftover Night
September 8 Cereal / Peanut Butter Banana Wrap / Slow Cooker Baked Potato Soup
September 10 Waffles / Hot Dogs / Chicken, Broccoli & Rice Casserole
Leftover Taco ingredients can be turned into:
Quesadillas - Add flour tortillas to grocery list. Heat up 1 tbsp olive oil in a non-stick skillet, and place a tortilla down. Top with cheese, and leftover meat, and top with another tortilla. Carefully flip, and cook on other side until crispy and cheese is melted. Serve with salsa or guacamole
Burritos - Add flour tortillas, beans and rice to grocery list. Fill warmed tortillas with cooked rice, beans, and other fillings. Serve with leftover salsa or guacamole.
Bowls - Cook rice according to package directions. Reheat leftover beans, and serve on top of rice with shredded cheese and green chili sauce.
Salad - Add romaine lettuce to grocery list. Warm taco meat and top lettuce with favorite ingredients.
- Make salsa for the week.
- Prepare toppings for baked potato soup.
- Prepare toppings for tacos.
- Cook rice and shred cheese for cheesy chicken broccoli and rice casserole.
- If you have time, make extra quesadillas for the month. Freeze extra quesadillas in a single layer on a baking sheet. Once frozen, transfer to ziplock bag and reheat in toaster oven or microwave.
